Position Description
Sr. Credit Analyst

Position Function:

Conduct thorough analysis on commercial credit applications. Performs various financial and administrative duties to underwrite and process commercial loan transactions. Reports to the VP & Sr. Lending Officer and performs loan administration, creates reports and summaries as needed and monitors the Bank’s commercial lending activity including preparation of loan documents and correspondence, tracking commercial loan account activity, producing in-house and regulatory reports, and maintaining related records.

Underwriting includes financial analysis with a concentration on cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation, trend analysis and related research. Review of the request and all pertinent information results in a solid recommendation on the loan risk.

Will spread and analyze financial statements, as well as contact various credit sources and references for information on commercial loan applicants: prepares loan packages for Credit Committee.

Coordinate the external loan review function with auditors and Senior Management.

Perform appraisal review on all commercial real estate appraisals.

Inputs complex data regarding business financial balance sheets and income statements and investment property income and expense statements.

Prepares commercial loan request proposals for approval by Loan Officer and/or Credit Committee utilizing word and excel.

Prepares commercial loan commitment letters and attorney letters as directed by lenders and monitors receipt of executed commitments.

Contacts attorneys and customers to respond to inquiries on loans in process, exchange information needed to produce loan documents, calculates bank closing costs for the Attorney and prepare legal documents on approved loans as required, in preparation for loan closing appointments.

Handle commercial loan customer inquiries. Contacts other departments to assist in resolving commercial customer needs such as overdraft protection, new accounts; contact other banks to obtain loan or credit information, etc.

Loan reviews includes reviewing financial statements to complete income and expense analysis for current loan ratings and ensures information is updated on the loan system.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: 5years+ of commercial/real estate credit and lending experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree: preferably in finance, accounting or business administration.
  • Ideal candidate exhibits excellent analytical skills with sound judgment and decision making abilities along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills – especially in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Experience with EasyLender is ideal.
